Libya Oil Production Reaches 43.47 Million Barrels in October

Libya Oil Production Reaches 43.47 Million Barrels in October

Libya produced 43.47 million barrels of crude oil in October 2026, averaging approximately 1.40 million barrels per day, according to the National Oil Corporation’s (NOC) October production and revenue report. The figures show an increase in crude output compared with September, while oil revenue collections reached $3.12 billion during the month.

Total crude production increased by around 8% from September’s 40.23 million barrels. Libya’s share of October production reached 34.61 million barrels, while international partners received 7.48 million barrels.

The NOC reported crude exports of 30.04 million barrels during October. Domestic refineries received 4.29 million barrels, while power stations in Ubari and Mellitah received another 282,947 barrels.

The increase follows a weaker September, when disruptions to the Sharara pipeline affected production and reduced the country’s monthly output. As LER reported in its September production and revenue update, crude production fell to 40.23 million barrels that month.

Libya’s Natural Gas Production Reaches 77.8 Billion Cubic Feet

Natural gas production reached approximately 77.8 billion cubic feet in October, according to the NOC. Around 75.98 billion cubic feet remained available for consumption, while actual gas use reached 56.8 billion cubic feet.

The figures highlight the importance of domestic gas production to Libya’s electricity supply and wider energy sector. Maintaining reliable gas output remains essential as the country works to meet growing domestic demand.

NOC Reports $3.12 Billion in October Oil Revenue Collections

The NOC reported $3.12 billion in oil revenue transfers to the sovereign account at the Libyan Foreign Bank during October. However, these collections came from September oil exports, rather than October production and exports.

Under the government’s approved financial arrangement, the Libyan Foreign Bank uses part of the collected revenue to cover fuel import credits. The remaining balance goes to the Central Bank of Libya.

The NOC also reported LYD 2.69 billion in royalties and taxes from oil concession agreements, payable to the Ministry of Oil.

October’s production recovery provides a positive signal for Libya’s oil sector, but maintaining output remains the bigger challenge. The country’s ambition to raise crude production above 1.5 million barrels per day will depend on sustained investment, reliable infrastructure and fewer disruptions to oil operations.
